The railway collectives supporting the return of the train held an event at Baza station on 31 December.

The railway and social groups organising the 38th public event for the train on 31 December in Baza have demanded the Spanish Government to give priority to the informative study underway for the reopening of the Guadix Baza Almanzora Lorca railway line, and also a state commitment to the conventional freight and passenger railway that links the territories from region to region.

In the event, organised by the Asociación Amigos del Ferrocarril Comarca de Baza and the platform Comarca de Guadix por el Tren (with the collaboration of the Asociación de Empresarios del Altiplano de Granada, the agricultural and livestock association AGAPRO and La Revuelta de la España Vaciada), young people, boys and girls from the regions of Bastet and Accitana have had a special role, reading the letters sent to the President of the Government asking for the return of the train. They have symbolised the unity of the different social sectors around the railway claim.

The president of Amigos del Ferrocarril Comarca de Baza, Antonio Francisco Martínez, after paying tribute to the people who fight for the reopening of the railway line, has verified the viability, necessity and profitability of this initiative, indicating that the train is the best alternative for sustainable development of present and future so that these emptied regions can move forward.

Paco Álvarez from Guadix por el Tren, Francisco Almagro from the Federación Andaluza de Asociaciones de Amigos del Ferrocarril (FAAAF), Pepe Ferrer from the Asociación El Labradorcico de Águilas and Manuel Mateos from the Plataforma Almeriense also took part.

Along with groups from different areas of Andalusia and Murcia, the national parliamentarians Abelardo Vico and Onofre Miralles, the territorial delegate of education María José Martín, the Andalusian parliamentarians Olga Manzano and Mariano García, the mayors of Baza, Guadix and Cúllar Manalles, the mayor of Guadix, the mayor of Cúllar Manalles, the mayor of Guadix and the mayor of Cúllar Manalles, the mayor of Guadix, the mayor of Guadix and the mayor of Cúllar Manalles, the mayor of Guadix and the mayor of Cúllar Manalles attended the event, Guadix and Cúllar Manolo Gavilán, Jesús Lorente and Alonso Segura, the mayoress of Caniles María Pilar Vázquez, the president of the Mancomunidad Olivié Sánchez, local and regional officials from the different political parties, as well as the president of the Savia Foundation Francisco Casero.
