Employment allocated 10.56 million euros in Almeria in 2022 to support training actions
Amós García highlights the greater transparency and legal certainty achieved in the management of public funds for training after their reactivation.

The territorial delegate for Employment, Training and Self-Employment, Amós García Hueso, informed today that during the year 2022, 10.56 million euros have been allocated in Almería to support the implementation of Vocational Training for Employment (FPE) actions. According to García Hueso, the 105 training actions developed during the past year in the province aimed at 1,470 unemployed and employed people have meant an investment of more than 4.46 million euros, to which are added another 6.1 million approved in 2022 to support new training actions to be launched during 2023.

As detailed by Amós García, during the past year a total of 66 training actions aimed at 990 unemployed people have been completed, have been given or have started in the province corresponding to the tenders made by the Regional Government of Andalusia Ministry of Employment, Training and Self-Employment, with an investment of 1,059,829 euros by the Regional Government of Andalusia.

In addition, 18 of the 84 courses included in the Andaluces Digitales programme, also launched by public tender and awarded for 1,108,769 euros, have been developed to improve the training in digital skills of 270 employed workers in the province. Two courses have also been given with a commitment to hire 30 students.

On the other hand, in collaboration with local councils, 14 training actions have been developed linked to seven Employment and Training projects in which 105 unemployed people, mostly young people and unemployed people over 45 years of age, receive training at the same time that they carry out non-labour professional practices, and which Employment supports with 2,122,546 euros. In addition to these training actions carried out together with local entities, there are five courses for 75 unemployed people with labour insertion difficulties given by the town councils of Adra and Vera and financed by the Andalusian Government with 177,828 euros.

Amós García pointed out that in addition to these 105 training actions that have been completed, developed or started during the year 2022, there will be a further 79 Vocational Training for Employment activities promoted and approved last year with 6,095,194 euros, which will be given during the year 2023, and which will improve the employability of 1,035 unemployed people with the collaboration of training centres and local entities.

“These figures show the Andalusian Government’s commitment to training as the best policy for improving employability, a training that we have recovered and revitalised through the new tendering system, after several years of paralysis of the FPE due to policies that are currently being settled in the courts, a system that allows training companies to offer higher quality services and transparency, with more legal certainty and all the guarantees of the Public Sector Contracts Act”, García Hueso stressed, adding that new courses will soon be put out to tender as part of the provincial study of training needs, as well as other programmes for specific groups and sectors.

Likewise, Amós García emphasised that “the training actions programmed are adapted to the needs of professional profiles that the companies themselves demand and that we are collecting in the training needs studies that are constantly being updated”.

On the other hand, the delegate for Employment explained that a total of 6,855,501 euros have been paid during 2022 to the entities that provide training, both academies and local entities.

In addition, the Vocational Training Service for Employment of the Territorial Delegation of Employment has received last year 48 applications for accreditation for the approval of training centres in 175 specialities and another 42 applications for the registration of 558 training specialities, of which it has resolved almost all of them. In addition, it has carried out 32 reviews of approved centres.

This service also monitored 84 training and apprenticeship contracts during the year 2022 and 27 alternation contracts, as well as 17 courses in the tele-training modality.
