The spokesperson for the Partido Popular of Zurgena, Domingo Trabalón, together with Pedro Ortiz, a member of the local PP executive, visited the municipal gymnasium facilities and saw how the lack of machines is one of the main stumbling blocks which is causing residents to move to nearby municipalities such as Arboleas or Huércal-Overa to do sport and enjoy the facilities as they deserve.
Trabalón explains that it is regrettable that the municipal gymnasium is abandoned in terms of machinery and hopes that the mayor will take note and as soon as possible improve it to avoid the unnecessary expense that is causing some 30 residents who are the ones who travel to other towns to do sport and train.
The popular spokesman, Domingo Trabalón, points out that the building where the gymnasium is installed is “magnificent” and recalls that thanks to a motion of the Popular Party, residents who so wish can use this sports centre completely free of charge.

That is why he urges the mayor to equip the gym with machines such as a simple treadmill, which is currently lacking, or with elliptical machines, pulley machines or leg presses; as well as renewing the few that exist which have become completely obsolete.
Ideally, according to Domingo Trabalón, Zurgena’s gymnasium should have a cardiovascular, weight training and free weights area, as well as an area for group training.
“Investing in the municipal gym is an investment in the health of the people of Zurgena, but for this to happen it must have quality equipment to ensure that the training is appropriate and that users can carry out their exercise routine comfortably and completely free of charge,” he said.
Domingo Trabalón hopes that this request from the PP will be heard by the mayor and that as soon as possible Zurgena will have the gymnasium that its residents deserve.
