The Federation of Women’s Associations of Almanzora for Equality -FEMAXI-, has issued a statement in which they show their support to the family of Rosa Galera, who “has received a call from the National Police informing them of another departure of the murderer’s permit. In addition to the rage and pain they want to make it public to remember that the murderer has a restraining order from the municipality and the family, so that if anyone sees him, they can denounce him”.
“New signs of support in the region of Almanzora for the family of Rosa Galera and their total rejection of the judicial decision to grant new penitentiary permits to the murderer Oscar Perales, sentenced to 21 years and 6 months in prison, 10 years after the events. Even more so when, according to the family’s lawyer, he has not shown any kind of repentance”, say FEMAXI.
“We demand Memory and Justice for Rosa Galera, a 27 year old resident of the municipality of Fines, who on 30 May 2011, was murdered by her ex-partner and father of the daughter they had in common. The murderer, also a resident of this municipality, was sentenced to 21 years and 6 months in prison, and is now back on prison leave for seven days. The family asks for public cooperation if anyone sees him in Fines, as he has a restraining order to stay away from the town”, the statement concludes.
