The Councillor for Public Safety of the City of Lorca, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, has reported “a police intervention that has resulted in the arrest of three people for an alleged crime against public health”.
The councillor for Public Safety explained that “these are two men and a woman, all of whom live in Cartagena and have numerous previous convictions, several of them for theft and trafficking of narcotic substances”.
Ruiz Guillén has detailed that “the events took place this Friday, about 23.30 hours, when as a result of preventive controls that are carried out from Lorca Local Police strange movements are observed inside a parked vehicle and inside which were three people”.

When they noticed the police presence they fled on foot and one of the occupants got rid of a bag. This person managed to be arrested on the run and the bag was recovered, which contained 102 grams of cocaine.
The councillor for Public Safety highlighted that “this was an excellent intervention carried out by the GISC group, with the collaboration of the UDIP and the canine unit. The three detainees and the vehicle they were in were taken to court”.
Finally, he reiterated that “these important actions confirm the constant preventive and operational work carried out by the Local Police, through the various units in which it is organised, by means of the surveillance devices that are established throughout the municipality both in the neighbourhoods of the town centre and in the districts and also thanks to the collaboration of the public, which is fundamental for this type of action, carried out by the Security Forces and Corps”.
