The Moisés Ruiz Pavilion of the Provincial Council of Almeria has hosted the presentation of the Mountain Running Circuit (CXM2023), which this year returns to the sports calendar with a total of 12 races spread throughout the province, and the Provincial Cup of Mountain Crossings, which will take place in eight host municipalities.
The provincial deputy for Sports, José Antonio García and the provincial delegate of the Andalusian Federation of Mountain Sports, Climbing and Hiking, Emilio Martínez, have unveiled the details and the calendar they have designed for mountain sports to be present in the province from 5 February to 10 December. Sports clubs, mayors and councillors attended the event.
This initiative has once again brought together the Andalusian Federation of Mountain Sports, Climbing and Hiking, the Provincial Council, town councils and mountaineering clubs in the province.
José Antonio García stressed that this edition of the Circuit is growing «exponentially, quantitatively and qualitatively» and emphasised that this initiative meets the objectives of the Provincial Council: «These circuits provide the backbone of the province with 12 events that cover all the counties and fix the population and energise the interior of the province of Almería. In addition, at a tourist and sporting level, they show the diversity offered by the municipalities of Almería».
The sports deputy highlighted the fact that this circuit «has a firm commitment» to the environment and «both runners and organisers take care of the natural landscapes it runs through».
García has unveiled the calendar for both circuits:

For his part, the provincial delegate of the Federation has been very pleased to be able to present the Provincial Circuit and the Provincial Cup, whose protagonists are the mountains, peaks and summits of the province: «It has cost a lot to set up a calendar with 12 races. We are committed to sustainable development and care for the environment and we have created a calendar especially designed for hikers,» he explained.
Registrations will be announced on the Federation’s social networks and will be centralised on Cruzandolameta.com: «We welcome two new towns, Chirivel and Tíjola, and we hope to exceed the 3,500 participants of the last edition in all categories, ranging from cadets to veterans».
