– GUARDIA CIVIL
The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the Local Police of Lorca, has developed the operation ‘Tahuna’, an investigation initiated to clarify several burglaries in homes in the municipality of Lorca, which has culminated in the identification, location and arrest of two young men as alleged perpetrators of burglary.
Following the operation, which is framed in the ‘Plan against burglary in homes’, the troops of Prevention of Public Safety of the Benemérita have clarified so far four criminal acts and recovered part of the effects stolen from homes, which have already been returned to their rightful owners.
The actions began at the end of last year, when the Guardia Civil opened the operation to detect an increase in burglaries in homes in the Lorca deputations of Rio and Tercia, facts that had caused social alarm among residents, according to sources from the Guardia Civil in a statement.

The first investigations were carried out in the affected homes, where exhaustive technical-ocular inspections and various steps were taken in order to gather all possible evidence about the perpetrators of the thefts and their illegal way of acting.
At the same time, civil guards specialised in Public Safety Prevention reinforced the preventive services in the areas most affected by this criminal activity with an increase in patrols to prevent more robberies from being committed and, if necessary, to thwart them and arrest the perpetrators.
The evidence obtained during the investigation led the Civil Guards to several young residents in the municipality of Lorca, who could allegedly be behind the thefts under investigation.
They were targeting houses in isolated areas in different districts of Lorca. They planned their robberies by studying the routines of the residents and taking advantage of the fact that they were not in the property, using force, they gained access to the interior and stole objects of varying value from which they could obtain economic benefit.
COLLABORATION OF THE LOCAL POLICE OF LORCA
Once all the necessary evidence was obtained, the Guardia Civil, in collaboration with the Local Police of Lorca, set up a search operation for the suspects which has culminated in the arrest of the two alleged perpetrators, for the crime of robbery with force, and the recovery of several stolen objects.
The detailed analysis of the information obtained in the investigation process has allowed the Guardia Civil to clarify, so far, four crimes of burglary in housing, although the operation remains open, as it is not ruled out that those arrested have committed more thefts.
The detainees, the effects recovered and the proceedings have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of Lorca (Murcia).
