
The Municipal Park «El Paseo», received last Sunday, February 5th, almost 200 duathletes who came to the town of Tíjola to compete in the first scoring test of the IX Andalusian Circuit of Junior Duathlon, which has marked the beginning of the season for the Andalusian Triathlon Schools.
The race, which was organised by the local club C.D. Triatlón Tíjola – Ociodeporte Baza, with the collaboration of the Tíjola Town Hall, the Regional Government of Andalusia and the Andalusian Triathlon Federation, was also scoring for the III Andalusian League of Triathlon Schools and for the II Provincial Circuit of Triathlon for Minors Diputación de Almería.
As if all of the above were not enough, the event also hosted the Andalusian Junior Triathlon Championship, a race that brought together 41 duathletes from all over Andalusia, at 10:00 am at the starting line, to complete a duathlon with a first section of 2 km of running, 8 km of cycling and 1 km of running.

Antonio Marqués, from Montilla-Córdoba Triatlón, was proclaimed Andalusian Junior Duathlon Champion 2023 by completing the course in 21:46, just 10 seconds ahead of Hugo Arias, also from Montilla-Córdoba Triatlón. The bronze medal of the Championship went to Ángel Luis Barranco, from ADSevilla.
Natalia Ramírez, from Montilla-Córdoba Triatlón, won the gold medal in the Andalusian Junior Duathlon Championship 2023 by crossing the finish line in 24:10. Paula Navas, from the Real Club Mediterráneo, took second place. Third place in the Championship went to Ainhoa Ruiz, from Montilla-Córdoba Triathlon.
