Facilitating that unemployed people who want to access training actions of level 2 and 3 certificates of professionalism, but lack the academic requirements to do so, can do so by passing tests of key competences: is the objective of the call opened by the Ministry of Employment, Enterprise and Self-Employment on which the territorial delegate, Amós García Hueso, has informed today, who has remarked «the value and accumulated experience that the unemployed of the province of Almería have» and «the improvement of their job opportunities by defining a professional profile that accredits their training through higher level certificates of professionalism».
Amós García explained that having a certificate of professionalism «is an added value in the curriculum, as it is an official qualification valid throughout the national territory that proves that the competences and skills associated with an occupation are possessed, which is a guarantee when it comes to accessing the labour market». He also stressed that the certificates of professionalism «facilitate lifelong learning and retraining throughout professional life because it is possible to accumulate certificates of higher levels in the same specialities or others in different areas».
Level 2 certificates of professionalism are equivalent to an intermediate level and level 3 to a Baccalaureate degree and are the highest levels of professional qualification that currently exist in Spain within the framework of VET. To access them, certain academic and/or vocational requirements are needed, while level 1 does not.

«Thanks to these key competences assessment tests, people with a lower level of qualification have the possibility to have a more complete training and with more options to find a higher quality job», stressed García Hueso, who indicated that the deadline for interested people to apply to take part in the tests, which will be held throughout Andalusia on 20 May, in person and simultaneously, is open until 17 February.
