A banner commemorating the disease will hang in front of the school until the end of the month.

This Monday, 13 February, stood out in the calendar as «International Epilepsy Day», a day «which aims to educate and raise awareness in society of a chronic disease that is highly stigmatised», according to the Huellas Moradas association.

The IES Valle del Almanzora Secondary School in Cantoria wanted to join in to «make the invisible visible»; an awareness banner was unfurled which will be visible until the end of the month on the façade of the school building, a manifesto was read out over the centre’s public address system and a video provided by the association of people suffering from this disease was shown, which gave students and teachers the opportunity to ask questions and obtain information about this condition.

To culminate the day, the Cantoria Town Hall, in support of this group, joined the initiative with the illumination of the town hall in purple, which will remain throughout the week.
