Huércal-Overa's Municipal Cinema reopens its doors
On 24 February the people of Huercal will be able to go to the cinema after the forced break due to the pandemic.

The Huércal-Overa Municipal Cinema will reopen its doors next Friday 24th February after intense work by the Town Hall to get it up and running again. The Covid 19 pandemic forced the closure of cinemas throughout the country and after the pandemic the activity in the municipality ceased.

The Councillor for Public Procurement, Adrián Ramos, explained that «the Town Council set out a few months ago to bring the Municipal Cinema back into operation, in response to the suggestions of our residents and thus providing them with new leisure opportunities. The Municipal Cinema was very well accepted by the residents of the municipality and the region, being another space for leisure and culture in Huércal-Overa, and we want to keep it that way, so that children and adults can enjoy the latest film premieres without having to travel to the cinemas of large surfaces. The Municipal Cinema of Huércal-Overa «is a very attractive offer because we are a municipality that in recent years we have been adding new services and we have exceeded 20,000 inhabitants. Now we can announce that next Friday 24th February, Huércal-Overa will once again have a premiere line-up to enjoy the cinema in the municipality».

After the administrative awarding process, Exhicine has been the company that will be in charge of the exploitation of the cinema, which will open its doors with the latest releases, online tickets, and all the attractions to enjoy a pleasant day at the cinema.

During the last few days work has been carried out in the cinema with tasks such as painting, cleaning and maintenance so that everything will be in perfect condition on the day of its reopening. It is worth remembering that the cinema has been adapted to new technologies with the acquisition of a new projection machine with 3G HDSDI and HDMI technology, among other connectivity features. This new technology also makes it possible to adapt the analogue digital audio to the existing audio equipment in the booths without having to purchase all new equipment, which means savings for the municipal coffers. This was in addition to the new screen that the hall and the sound systems were equipped with. This was in addition to the comprehensive refurbishment of both the exterior and interior of the cinema carried out by the government team a few years ago.
