On the occasion of the creation of the La Borriquita Association, an official communiqué has been issued:
OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUÉ
We are pleased to announce officially, before our town of Oria, the creation of the ASSOCIATION OF THE ENTRANCE OF JESUS IN JERUSALEM «LA BORRIQUITA» of Oria.

The association was born out of the restlessness and desire of a group of brotherhood friends, with the common and firm idea of further enhancing Oria’s Holy Week, setting its objective on Palm Sunday and the image of La Borriquita. As everyone knows, this procession has always been managed between the Church and the Town Council of Oria. After multiple meetings with both entities, an agreement was reached that the Palm Sunday procession will be directed and managed by this association.
On 10 December 2022, the first general assembly is held, where the statutes governing the Association are approved, as well as the registration of the first members of the Association. On 23rd January 2023, the CIF is obtained, which gives legal personality to the association, under the name ASOCIACIÓN CULTURAL DE LA ENTRADA DE JESÚS EN JERUSALÉN «LA BORRIQUITA».
One of the most significant changes brought about by the new management is the replacement of the old float with a float that will be carried on the shoulders of a mixed group. We would like to take this opportunity to invite anyone, man or woman, who would like to take part in this project. To do so, please contact the association.
THANKS: To our neighbours for their support and acceptance of the project. To the parish and its parish priests, for their availability and the facilities they have provided. To the Town Council of Oria for the support received. To the Brotherhood of Ma Stma. de los Dolores, for lending us the paso for our penitential procession. To the Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno for their help in assembling the paso and for their advice. To Don Ramón Galera Masegosa for his untiring and selfless work in selling tickets for a raffle, which will help us economically. To Don Andrés Redondo Marchán, for making new skirts and for the floral decoration. Finally, to all the people who have taken an interest and joined in this initiative. From the bottom of our hearts… Thank you.
We hope that with effort and dedication, we will achieve that this project pleases all the brotherhoods of Oria and province, whose only objective is to enhance our Holy Week and our town.
