The Villa de Fines women’s futsal team won at home this Saturday afternoon by 5-4 against Villa de Rota, a match corresponding to match day 17 of the Single Group of the Andalusian Division of Honour.
Coach Francis Cano praised the win «against a rival who took the first points from us in the first leg, and who we had to beat to follow in the footsteps of the group leaders, in a match we knew was going to be tough».
It was in this context that the match was played in the Fernando Navarrete pavilion, with maximum expectation until the final whistle.
«We came out weak in defence but up front we know that we generate chances and we have a goal», said the coach at the end of the match in an interview with La Comarca Noticias.
Karen opened the scoring for the home side in the 6th minute and repeated in the 30th minute. The Salvadoran is the top scorer in the competition with 36 goals.
Silvia made it 2-0 for the home side in the 8th minute. Herrera scored for Villa de Rota in the next play and Lucía made it 2-2 in the 16th minute.
Nerea made it 3-2 in the 21st minute. Laura equalised for the visitors in the 25th minute. Karen made it 4-3 in the 30th minute, Johanna stretched the lead in the 31st minute and María in her own goal rounded off the 5-4 score that ended the match.
Next weekend the light blue team, second in the ranking with 35 points, travel to Seville to face Brújula FS, a team that occupies the 12th place with 9 points.
