The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed in San Javier the operation ‘Merchedos’, to clarify some facts consisting of some shots with a firearm against a vehicle occupied by three people, one of them a minor, which has culminated with the identification, location and arrest of the three alleged perpetrators of the facts, for the crime of attempted murder.
The events took place on 12 February, when a group of people fired several shots at a vehicle driving through the town centre of San Javier, occupied by a couple and a minor, hitting the front and rear of the car.
The Guardia Civil initiated the investigation following the appearance of the victims at the official premises of the Guardia Civil in San Javier, where they recounted the episode of what happened. Officers of the Benemérita specialised in Judicial Police opened the corresponding operation and carried out a series of investigations with the aim of identifying the perpetrators of the events.

The civil guards carried out an exhaustive technical-ocular inspection of the damaged vehicle, thus confirming the victim’s version with damage caused by gunshots to the front and rear of the vehicle, corroborating the version initially given by the injured party.
At the same time, the Judicial Police specialists carried out the first steps of the investigation at the place where the crime was committed, where they gathered all possible evidence about the way in which the crime was committed and its perpetrators.
The development of the operation made it possible to establish the main line of investigation into three people who were allegedly behind the shots fired at the vehicle and its occupants.
Once all the necessary evidence had been obtained, the Guardia Civil set up a search operation for the suspects, which culminated in their location, arrest and subsequent bringing them before the courts as the alleged perpetrators of attempted murder.
The detainees – with a police record for violent crimes among other criminal acts – together with the proceedings, have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of San Javier (Murcia).
