Cosentino's expansion in Partaloa, Fines and Cantoria approved
The extension involves an investment of 719 million euros over the next ten years.

The Regional Ministry of Development, Housing and Territorial Planning of the Andalusian Regional Government has approved the autonomous action project for the industrial implementation and expansion of the multinational Cosentino in the municipalities of Cantoria, Partaloa and Fines, whose action project was already declared of autonomous interest by the Governing Council at the end of 2021.

The Andalusian Government has given the go-ahead to the urban development proposed by the company to expand its facilities and grant an industrial use to the new space in accordance with the Order published in the BOJA this Friday, reported by Europa Press.

The new industrial facilities will involve an investment of 719 million euros over the next ten years and the creation of 740 direct jobs, to which must be added another 1,900 direct and indirect jobs that will be generated during the construction phase.

The business initiative involves working on an area of 268 hectares in the municipalities of Cantoria, Partaloa and Fines, where new facilities will be set up to increase the production capacity of Dekton and Silestone products and auxiliary activities, within the framework of the Reborn waste recovery project.

The industrial implementation and expansion of Cosentino in the Almeria municipalities of Cantoria, Partaloa and Fines will serve to consolidate the industrial facilities of the Cosentino Group, integrating both the parts already executed and in the process of execution, as well as the extensions required to meet the needs arising from the growth of its activity.

This project identifies three different areas: an area of 83.4 hectares to support the existing facilities, an area of 123.62 hectares for the expansion of the facilities and, finally, land totalling 61.2 hectares to support the waste management plant and for the implementation of other uses and activities compatible with the undeveloped land regime.

The action was declared to be of regional interest, taking into account the importance of the industrial establishment in Almeria of the Cosentino Group, an international benchmark in the manufacture and marketing of innovative, high-value surfaces for the world of architecture and design using stone-derived products.

It currently distributes its products and brands in more than 100 countries and manages its own facilities in 34 countries from its headquarters in Cantoria. The Cosentino Group has become one of the main economic engines of the Almanzora Valley and a leader in the promotion of employment in the region, with a workforce of over 4,500 workers, more than 2,000 of whom work at the existing facilities in Almeria.

The expansion project was declared a business investment of strategic interest for Andalusia on 16 July 2019 by the Delegate Commission for Economic Affairs, published by Order of 29 July by the Regional Ministry of Economy, Knowledge, Enterprise and University in the Official Gazette of the Regional Government of Andalusia (BOJA).
