Water, earth and air, which characterise the municipality of San Javier, are present in the poster for the Imagina 2023 Emerging Art Festival, which is open for artistic proposals until 30 March. The selected projects will be announced on 4 April and can be seen in different public spaces in the municipality from 4 to 7 May, the date of the Festival, whose main objective is to «encourage young artistic participation, produce and exhibit their work», explained the councillor, Isabel Madrid.
Regarding participation, the councillor for Youth explained that the detailed rules can be consulted on the youth website and reminded that individual or collective proposals of any artistic discipline can still be submitted until 30 March. The theme is free although the link with the municipal project «San Javier, city of air», which aims to value the historical relationship of the municipality with aviation will be valued. The only requirement for the projects presented will be that they have the capacity for technical self-management.
Proposals must be submitted by hand or by post to Concejalía de Juventud. Avenida Aviación, 12 San Javier 30730 and by e-mail. The selection of proposals, which will be announced on 4 April, will take into account artistic quality, material and economic viability and suitability for the spaces available. In this sense, the councillor announced three new spaces for mural painting, such as the walls of the auxiliary pavilion, the archery wall, and the wall of the outdoor swimming pool, all in the sports centre. These spaces are in addition to the Museum of San Javier, Plaza Maestre, Plaza de España, Town Hall, Usos Múltiples building, San Javier Library, Paseo Colón and Barnuevo esplanade in Santiago de la Ribera.

The mayor, José Miguel Luengo recalled that «it has been 19 years creating and giving opportunities to young people» and thanked the council for its work in managing the festival «which will once again fill our streets and squares with talent». Luengo stressed «the commitment of the City Council of San Javier for talent and culture» and encouraged both the creators to participate and the public to enjoy their talent throughout the Festival. As for the poster, Isabel Madrid explained that it is a work by Comarcal TV, in which the sea and the sand symbolise the idea that art is in constant movement and the origami eagle that flies over the shore generating a shadow reminiscent of an aeroplane, the imagination and inspiration inherent to art.
