San Javier will host the Youth Awards Gala 2022 on 30 MarchSan Javier will host the Youth Awards 2022 gala on 30 March, which was presented this morning at the San Javier Town Hall by the Director General of Youth, José Manuel López, accompanied by the Mayor, José Miguel Luengo and the Councillor for Youth, Isabel Madrid. The gala, which will be “dynamic and participative”, will have humour as the main theme and will feature performances by leading Murcian artists such as the rap singer “Walss” and the emerging band “Atientas”, a group selected for the Estrenarte 2022 Festival.

The Director General of Youth, José Manuel López, said that the purpose of these awards is “to give public recognition to young talent in the Region of Murcia”. The Mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo thanked San Javier for having been chosen to hold this gala “which will be the first event to be held in the theatre which will be inaugurated on 25 March”. Luengo highlighted the fact that two of the award winners are from San Javier, such as the Local Council for Children and Adolescents, CLIA, which will receive the Participation Award and the young motorcyclist Borja Gómez who has been chosen as Youth of the Year.

The other award winners in this edition are the Boscos scout group for Initiative; the Emergency Awareness and Information Teams (ESIE)-Red Cross Youth project, award for Commitment; the baccalaureate students of science research of the IES Pedro Guillén de Archena, award for Solidarity; Alejandro Ballona, award for Social Entrepreneurship and the youth section of the Association of Choirs and Dances Virgen de las Huertas, from Lorca, which shares the award for Participation with the CLIA, from San Javier.

The Gala organised by the Regional Ministry of Presidency, Tourism, Culture, Youth, Sports and Spokesmanship, through the Directorate General of Youth, will be developed with a comic script starring actors Salvador Riquelme and Monica Gutierrez. Access will be free of charge until full capacity is reached.

The Mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo celebrated the fact that San Javier is the venue for these awards that “are a boost to the commitment of the City Council of San Javier for Youth, from Childhood and Adolescence and with multiple cross-cutting actions, such as the Festival of young art Imagina”.
