The Villa de Fines women’s team lost for the first time in the championship two consecutive matches and are slipping behind in the fight for promotion. The Fines visited this Sunday the Colegio Los Olivos of Malaga Pavilion, where they lost by 11-4, in a match corresponding to the 20th day of the Senior Women’s Division of Honour.
The team coached by Francis Cano were unable to overcome the circumstances this time. They travelled to Malaga with only one change, 8 minutes into the game and goalkeeper Estrella was sent off with a straight red card for a handball outside the area. From then on, 32 minutes with Johanna as a player goalkeeper. As if that wasn’t enough, in the 15th minute of the first half, Karen, the top scorer of the championship, retired injured and the rest of the match the light blue team played the game with one player less.
The result (11-4) was the result of a series of unfortunate circumstances that marked the match and distanced the Almanzora team from the objective of promotion.

For the Villa de Fines coach, «we must keep working to finish as high as possible. Karen’s injury doesn’t look good and could be long term like Vero’s (the captain misses the whole championship). We are going to respect the competition and get as many points as possible in the next six games that we have left».
