
The Delegate for Employment, Enterprise and Self-Employment, Amós García Hueso, and the Mayor of Zurgena, Francisco Martínez Ramos, have inaugurated an Employment and Training project promoted by the council and funded by the Junta de Andalucía with 246,192 euros which will allow unemployed people in the municipality «to train while gaining work experience through internships for a whole year in tourism promotion and visitor information and English B1, occupations in high demand in the province and the Almanzora region,» said Amós García.
He also announced that the town hall of Zurgena will provide this year an action of Vocational Training for Employment in tourism promotion and visitor information in which 15 unemployed people with insertion difficulties will participate and that the Ministry of Employment finances with 66,400 euros, «which added to the Employment and Training project that begins today, represents a total investment of the Board of 312,592 euros to the professional qualification of unemployed people in Zurgena». He added that «having the B1 English certificate of professionalism is a plus in the curriculum, as the mastery of this language is required in many jobs in various sectors, especially in this region with a large colony of British citizens and other European countries that require attention in English.
The territorial delegate underlined «the reactivation and reform that the Junta de Andalucía has undertaken with Vocational Training for Employment to provide this powerful tool for improving employment opportunities, which also helps to increase business competitiveness, with greater quality, adaptation to the real needs of companies and efficiency».
García Hueso recalled that the Regional Ministry of Employment has earmarked nearly 7 million euros for the development of 34 Vocational Training for Employment actions in collaboration with local councils and consortia in the province, in addition to FAAM. The Employment and Training project in Zurgena is funded with 246,192 euros by the Regional Ministry of Employment and has 10 unemployed students under the age of 30. During the next 12 months they will receive theoretical training in alternation with internships that will enable them to obtain a level 3 certificate of professionalism in the speciality of ‘Local tourism promotion and visitor information’ and a level 3 certificate of ‘English B1’, totaling 930 hours of teaching and internships.
