The North Health Management Area of Almeria has reinforced health and hygiene safety with the installation of autoclave equipment in all health centres and surgeries where dental and minor surgery procedures are carried out, as well as in the operating theatres and laboratory areas of La Inmaculada Hospital. It is a system that enables a more complete and safer sterilisation process.
«While disinfection only kills pathogens, the sterilisation process does not make this distinction, but kills all micro-organisms,» said the Health Area, where they pointed out that it also speeds up processes as well as saving costs and reducing environmental impact by reducing the generation of waste. «Acquiring new equipment is a common mechanism for maintaining efficiency levels and guaranteeing health services», they stressed.
The health centres of Albox, Cuevas del Almanzora, Garrucha, Huércal-Overa, Olula del Río, Pulpí, Serón, Vélez Rubio, Vera, Macael and the consulting rooms of Antas, Los Gallardos, Lucar, Mojácar playa, Turre, Arboleas, Chirivel, Nievas, Oria, San Francisco and Somontín have this resource. The Hospital La Inmaculada also has a total of five autoclaves.
