
The Provincial Council is taking part in the 36th edition of ‘Salón Gourmets’ with the seal of proven quality of the brand ‘Sabores Almería’ and the proposals of the companies that make it up. A large stand of the Diputación’s gourmet brand will showcase the gastronomic excellence of the province of Almería at this important event, considered one of the most influential in the high-end food and beverage segment in the world.
From 17 to 20 April, the public and professionals will have the opportunity to discover and enjoy the products of ‘Sabores Almería’ at stand D-30 located in Pavilion 6 of Ifema, Madrid. In this corner of Almeria in the capital of Spain 24 companies of the province’s gourmet brand will showcase the talent and originality of their gastronomic creations along with a full programme of activities with showcokings by chefs from Almeria, tastings, presentations and product tastings to encourage activity at the stand.
This morning, at the Hotel Cabogata Beach del Toyo, one of the latest establishments to join ‘Sabores Almería’, the participation of the gourmet brand in the new edition of ‘Salón Gourmets’ was presented with speeches by the president of the Provincial Council, Javier A. García; the deputy for Agri-Food Promotion, María Luisa Cruz; the deputy Álvaro Izquierdo and representatives of the companies and chefs who will attend this great world gastronomic forum.

The President of the Provincial Council highlighted the presence of ‘Sabores Almería’ at this event with a 450 m2 stand that represents a food market «where consumers will find everything they need for healthy eating, a reflection of the potential of our agriculture. It is an attractive, welcoming and open-plan space, which promotes meetings between visitors and the companies of ‘Sabores Almería’, so that business opportunities can be generated».
Likewise, Javier A. García pointed out that «our display will highlight the work of all the people behind the companies of ‘Sabores Almería’, from the countryside or the sea to its preparation and subsequent production, marketing and distribution or in the transformation with the talent and know-how of Almeria’s chefs».
Finally, the President of the Provincial Council acknowledged feeling «deeply proud of all the people behind the companies in this project, an essential part of our main productive fabric. We export portions of health and happiness that can be found in every mouthful of Almeria’s products and the preparations of our chefs. We invite all distributors, restaurateurs and retail chains to enjoy the products of ‘Sabores Almería’ with all five senses at ‘Salón Gourmets'».
For her part, María Luisa Cruz detailed the activities that will take place at the ‘Sabores Almería’ stand, which has a giant screen and a Cosentino silestone kitchen that will host 13 events in total including showcookings, presentations, tastings, samplings and culinary demonstrations with the aim of «filling the display with content to encourage the presence of the public and professionals to get to know and contact the companies and be seduced by the quality of their creations».
In addition, the deputy explained that, as part of the collaboration between ‘Sabores Almería’ and Cosentino, a meeting will be held in Cosentino City Madrid, on the Paseo de la Castellana, between the companies of the gourmet brand and the heads of Makro, one of the leading distribution companies in Europe, in which the chef of Yugo, Julián Mármol, a Michelin star chef, will share his success story with the entrepreneurs.
