A fire in a company in Balsapintada causes dozens of calls and a large column of smoke.

Emergency Health Services yesterday, Sunday, worked to extinguish a fire in a fruit and vegetable wholesale company in Balsapintada, in the municipality of Fuente Álamo.

More than 70 calls have alerted the Emergency Coordination Centre ‘1-1-2’, about the fire, which originated outside the premises of the company, which is located at Pk 6 of the RM-E12, in Balsapintada.

Firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Consortium (CEIS) of the Region of Murcia, with eight vehicles, firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Service (SEIS) of the City of Cartagena, with two vehicles, Local Police of Fuente Alamo, Civil Guard and the DGSCyE helicopter are working on the fire.

The fire affected plastic and cardboard pallets outside the warehouses, spreading to company vehicles parked in the area. The Guardia Civil evacuated one of the houses near the company’s premises due to the spread of the fire.

At around 14:31 hours, the CEIS fire brigade reported that the fire was under control, although the firefighters continued to work on the site.
