The Villa de Fines women’s team lost this Saturday afternoon at the Fernando Navarrete Pavilion by 3-6 to Avanza Jaen, the championship leaders with 56 points in a match where the locals played a good game.
The team coached by Francis Cano, say goodbye to the fight for the championship after several rounds where long-term injuries have depleted a squad that in itself is short. So much so that they had to sign a goalkeeper -María José- at the last minute due to the expulsion of Estrella last matchday, who made her debut without even having trained with the team.
This is the reality of a team that held on as long as they could in the fight for the leadership but that this Saturday took to the court without Vero, Karen and Estrella, three of the undisputed starters in the sky-blue line-up. They now occupy fifth place with 41 points.
