Organic lemons are in great demand among consumers.

The Territorial Delegate of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of the Junta de Andalucía, Antonio Mena, visited this Wednesday afternoon the hamlet of Almanzora, in Cantoria, and had the opportunity to meet with the producers of the area.

The modernisation of irrigation systems, the marketing of the products of small farmers, the burning of pruning waste, the maintenance of historical irrigation systems and the state of the wadis and watercourses were some of the issues addressed at the meeting, which was also attended by Saturnino Fernández Caparrós, the Popular Party’s candidate for mayor of Cantoria.

«We have highlighted the fact that we have an excellent product such as the organic lemon, which is in high demand and for which we must improve marketing in order to increase the added value», said Mena at the end of the meeting.
