Under the slogan, 20 years with you and the promise to continue advancing with a guaranteed future, Rodrigo Sánchez presented the list that will accompany him to the municipal elections on 28th May under the name of the Popular Party.
Only José Manuel López repeats in the first places; then in the starting positions there are several new signings who will occupy a seat thanks to the generosity of those who after years of prominence and responsibility, mostly go in the last places as a sign of support and commitment.
It was an emotional event in the brand new Javier Aureliano García auditorium, where more than 200 local residents supported the current mayor, who said he was “full of enthusiasm and eager to continue working for his town”.
Rodrigo Sánchez has been supported by the people of Fines since 2003, with absolute majorities that for the candidate “must be managed with great responsibility”. “In these 20 years, when the Diputación and the Junta de Andalucía belonged to the PSOE, we were able to move forward, invest 45 million in the municipality and transform the town by providing it with infrastructures and services. Imagine when the Popular Party also governs in the nation, it is a historic moment that I do not want to miss and of course we will take advantage of it to grow even more”.
“We already have two grants approved for 2.9 million euros each to be used to create bicycle lanes, pedestrian lanes, electric cars for the town hall, chargers for all vehicles in general, to change the motorbikes of the municipal police, energy efficiency. On the other hand we are buying houses and providing the municipality with car parks because where there used to be one vehicle there are now three. The asphalting of roads, the entrance from Cosentino to where the new boulevard begins, the approval of the urban plan and the long-awaited residence, are the great challenges of this legislature,” said the Popular candidate.
Sánchez had words of thanks for all those who have accompanied him “in this adventure that began in 1991”, especially to his nephew Óscar Liria, who as deputy of Fomento made it possible to carry out works of great importance.
In addition to his neighbours, the mayors of Alcóntar, Albanchez, Olula del Río and Tíjola accompanied the presentation, and many others greeted him through different videos prepared for the occasion.
Rodrigo Sánchez is mayor of Fines and a point of reference for those who came after him. When the Almanzora region was the so-called Red Valley, Fines voted for the Popular Party. Now the reality has changed. The Popular Party expects to obtain very good results throughout the province of Almería, with special attention to the Almanzora region, where they can take over several historic PSOE strongholds.
