The PSOE candidate for Mayor of Lúcar in the municipal elections on 28 May, Andrés Reche Sola, has called on the Andalusian Regional Government to provide educational reinforcement at the rural public school (CPR) of Cela, as has been requested for a year by families who have been «ignored» by the Provincial Delegation for Educational Development and have not been provided with a «fair» solution which involves providing this centre with at least one more teacher.
In this sense, he has pledged to the families of the students of Cela to continue fighting for their interests and, if he obtains the majority support at the polls on 28 May, he will do so from the town hall, together with the PSOE parliamentarians of Almeria who will fight to provide this school with the teacher reinforcement it needs, something that has not been done, unfortunately, by the current government team. «We have been with the families and we will continue to be», insisted the socialist candidate.
According to Andrés Reche, the excuse of Moreno Bonilla’s government for not increasing the number of teachers in this CPR is that the ratio is within the parameters, an issue with which both the socialist candidate and the families disagree. «We must take into account the particularities and specificities of the students in this public school with two classrooms», the socialist leader defended, pointing out that 11 children between 3 and 7 years old study in the first class and 12 in the second; but among all the students, two have dyslexia, one of them has ADHD and by 2023-24 they will have to attend to another child with autism.
«Educational quality is not in meeting the ratio, it is in giving personalised attention and with guarantees of learning to everyone and we believe that this school in Cela needs a teacher reinforcement to attend to students with educational needs and the rest so that everyone, together, learn and evolve in that learning», said the socialist candidate. He also stressed that, once the school year begins, children are enrolled whose families move to Lúcar to work in the agricultural sector and asked Education to «take into account all these circumstances» to improve educational services in the municipality, something that, until now, has not happened.
Educational measures of the PSOE in Lúcar
Educational reinforcement in Cela is essential for the PSOE of Lúcar, which will also implement aid to families to combat absenteeism, as well as training and support programmes for students in collaboration with schools.
In addition, if the PSOE becomes Municipal Government after 28M, it will create a Municipal Council for the promotion of education and will look for new sources of employment in the municipality, and will promote reading programmes, sports activities and associations to improve education, among other measures included in its electoral programme.
