The PSOE proposes a comprehensive project and a consensual solution for the whole area around the Plaza Mayor in Albox.

The socialist candidate for Albox Town Council, Mary Trinidad, announces a competition of ideas and a popular consultation to choose the best project.

The PSOE candidate for Mayor of Albox, Mary Trinidad Segovia, is convinced that after many weeks of consultation with technical specialists, businesses and citizens, “what Albox needs is a comprehensive solution to the whole area formed by the Rambla, Plaza Mayor, Ramblica Meana and Recinto Ferial, where pedestrian areas are increased and the traffic problem is solved definitively”.

In this sense, he assured that one of the first measures that the PSOE will take when it comes to the municipal government after the elections on 28 May will be to launch a competition of ideas so that specialists can present their projects for the integral reform of this area and then choose the three best projects and submit them to the “popular consultation” of all the citizens of Alboja. “The decision on this area, the nerve centre of our town, cannot be taken from an office, but must be open to the opinion and vote of all citizens,” he said.

“However, we know that it is necessary to present a project that, as an example, visualises our intention to provide a comprehensive solution for this area. That is why we are presenting this project, which would consist of two phases, and which is explained in the images that we have shared on social networks and which are available to the whole of Albox society”, said the head of the PSOE list in Albox.

With the aim of knowing the possibilities of financing the project through the various programmes included in the Plan for Recovery, Transformation and Resilience, which is developed with Next-Generation EU funds, the PSOE candidate for Mayor of Albox, Mary Trinidad, has held a meeting with the sub-delegate of the Government of Spain, José María Martín, to whom she explained how the future reorganisation of traffic planned by the PSOE for the town centre of the municipality would look like.

“This project, we insist, is only an idea based on our work over the last few months. We are not going to take any definitive decision without more technical opinions and, fundamentally, the opinion of all the citizens of Albox”, says socialist candidate Mary Trinidad Segovia.
