
May until 5 June at 14:00h, it will be possible to apply for one of the 810 free places offered by the Municipal Summer School for the four fortnights of July and August. The Councillor for Women and Equal Opportunities, Ana Belén Martínez, today presented the Summer School which is aimed at children aged between 3 and 12 years old. The School will have three venues in the schools “Joaquín Carrión”, in San Javier; “Fulgencio Ruiz”, in Santiago de la Ribera and CEIP El Mirador, in El Mirador.
The hours of operation will be from 09:00 to 14:00h, with the possibility of requesting an extension from 07:30 to 14:30h, with a limited number of places. Applications will be made in fortnights, with the same student being able to apply for more than one fortnight. The information and the application form can be obtained in the Social Services section of the municipal website www.sanjavier.es. Once completed and together with the required documentation, the application form must be presented in the Electronic Office, in the General Registry of the Town Hall or in the Registry of Social Services by appointment.
The councillor, Ana Belén Martínez, reported that this year the admission of students will not be on a first come, first served basis, but will take into account a series of requirements that establishes a group of beneficiary families. The priority criteria, set out in the regional regulations, and the order of preference will be for registered families who meet some of these criteria, such as single-parent families, large families, income, women who are victims of gender violence, among others, followed by registered families who meet the priority criteria.
In case of vacancies, children enrolled in schools in the municipality without being registered in the municipality may apply, and if there are still vacancies, children of whom at least one of the parents works in the municipality. In the event that the number of applications exceeds the number of places available, a lottery by letter established by the regional administration in terms of admissions will be chosen from among the priority group.
The Summer School organised by the City Council of San Javier, is subsidised by the Ministry of Equality, Secretary of State for Equality and against Gender Violence, in the framework of the Corresponsables Plan and in collaboration with the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, through the Department of Social Policy, Families and Equality.
