A total of five political formations will have representation in the Town Hall of San Javier during the next legislature according to the results of the municipal and regional elections held yesterday, Sunday 28th May, in which the Partido Popular revalidated its absolute majority with 11 councillors. The rest of the corporation will be made up of 4 councillors from the PSOE (5 in 2019), 3 from Vox (2 in 2019), 2 from Pleamar, which is represented for the first time, and 1 from Unidas Podemos (1 in 2019). Ciudadanos-C’s, which lost the two councillors it won in the 2019 elections, Somos Región and PODIU were not represented.
The turnout rate was 58.74%, lower than in the 2019 elections, when it reached 60.57%, so abstention stood at 41.25, 1.83 higher than in 2019. In yesterday’s municipal elections, 12,873 people voted out of a total census of 21,914 voters. The constitution of the new municipal corporation resulting from the 28M elections will take place on Saturday 17 June, in the plenary hall of the Town Hall of San Javier. As for the results in San Javier for the regional elections, the PP was the most voted party with 47.19% of the votes, followed by Vox with 20.39%, PSOE with 18.75, Podemos with 4.08 and Cs with 1.36%.
