Blood collection in 22 municipalities of the province
Five special plasma donation sessions will be held to continue promoting plasma donation among Almeria’s citizens.

Professionals from the Almeria Blood Transfusion Area Centre will visit a total of 22 municipalities in the province throughout the month of June to carry out up to 33 scheduled blood and plasma collections. The aim of this activity is to get closer to donors and facilitate their collaboration in maintaining the Blood Bank’s reserves and the production of plasma derivatives. As in previous months, sessions will be devoted entirely to plasma donation, with the aim of increasing the collection of this blood component.

The Transfusion Centre has recalled that in Almeria an average of 60 donations a day are needed to guarantee the distribution of plasma derivatives to hospitals and thus make it possible for all patients who require it to have access to treatment or undergo surgery, thereby guaranteeing the normal functioning of the health system.
