The acting mayor of Cartagena, the ‘popular’ Noelia Arroyo, acknowledged Tuesday that there are «informal contacts» with other political parties, with the intention of «talking to everyone and take into account all parties in the face of the constitution of the City Council», which will take place on June 17.
«Our intention and our vocation is to talk to everyone throughout the legislature to have four years of growth for Cartagena, solving problems and taking advantage of opportunities,» said Arroyo.
In this sense, he has assured, after the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority, that «between now and June 17 there is nothing at risk,» according to PP sources in a statement.
«The people of Cartagena have spoken and have decided that the Partido Popular will govern and we know that with this result we have to continue talking, and we have the intention and will to talk to everyone throughout the legislature and reach agreements that are good for the city,» he stressed.
On the informal contacts that have already been established with other political formations, Arroyo said that «the important thing is that we are able to talk on an ongoing basis so that Cartagena has solid institutions and a smooth legislature.
Regarding the departure of the hitherto MC spokesman, José López, the councillor said that «Cartagena has one less problem with López out of the City Council. Those of us who are still inside must look forward to working for all Cartagenerans and seek great agreements so that Cartagena continues to progress,» she emphasised.
