The Institute of Almerian Studies of the Provincial Council of Almeria has organised the guided tour ‘The museums of the Almanzora. Art and artists from Almeria’, which took place as part of the events organised by the provincial institution to commemorate Museum Day.
The participants in this guided tour had the opportunity to visit and get to know in depth the main museums in Olula del Río, Arboleas and Cuevas del Almanzora, such as the Ibáñez Cosentino Art Foundation, the Pedro Gilabert Museum and the Cuevas Museum, where the works collected by the art critic Manuel Campoy are on display.
During the tour of these facilities, great bastions of provincial culture and an attractive tourist resource in these municipalities, the participants were able to enjoy works by renowned Almerian artists such as Pedro Gilabert, Andrés García Ibáñez and the photographer Carlos Pérez Siquier, among many others. The visit was coordinated by IEA member Andrés Molina Franco.
The deputy of Culture and Cinema, Almudena Morales, has highlighted that “these activities are necessary to continue spreading the culture and work of the people of Almería, as well as showing the world the goodness that we have in this land. It is important that the people of Almeria know first hand our culture and our artists because they are the true ambassadors of the province of Almeria”.
