The Almeria Provincial Council has already awarded the works that will convert the old Pharmacy House in Urrácal into Social Housing. This has been explained by the deputy of Development, Antonio J.. Rodríguez, who explained that the works can begin once the contract has been signed.
Specifically, the Governing Board has approved the award of the project ‘Completion of the Pharmacy House’ under the Provincial Plans that will allow this property to be used as social housing.
The new social housing will have the following functional programme with a total surface area of 147 m2:
Ground Floor: Living Room, Kitchen, Bathroom and Bedroom uses.
First floor: Secondary bedrooms.
Specifically, the intended use of this social housing, as the City Council does not have the old teachers’ houses that were an essential resource for people who did not have housing at specific times: teacher, doctor or young couples who had no home.
This work is the continuation of two other interventions in which the slabs have been recovered and the structure has been guaranteed, putting an end to the damage of this historic building for the municipality.
This project will put an end to all the existing pathologies and will completely complete the work on this building.
Antonio J. Rodriguez, the deputy for Public Works, emphasised that this work will soon be a reality and recalled that the low price obtained during the awarding procedure will mean savings for the municipal coffers.
