On 14th June, the Juan Rubio Ortiz Secondary School celebrated the inauguration of the sculpture “Signo” donated to the school by the sculptor and teacher of the school, Indalecio Pérez Entrena.
“This work is a recognition of what educational work represents. I wanted to capture in some way the mark left by all those who have passed through the centre, former and current teachers, students and all those who are no longer with us,” said the sculptor himself.
The work is made of stone and Corten steel, and has had the collaboration of the City Council of Macael, Cuellar Stone, Arte di Piedra D’Macael, José Martínez González and the IES Juan Rubio Ortiz itself.
The event was attended by the management team of the IES Juan Rubio Ortiz and members of the educational community, a representation of the local corporation of the town council of Macael, directors of other schools in Macael, a representation of the Foundation Museo Casa Ibáñez and the companies and people who have collaborated in it.
For anyone who wants to see the sculpture, the IES Juan Rubio Ortiz is located in the town of Macael, in Avenida de Andalucía Nº 10, at the entrance of the municipality.
