Domingo Trabalón took office this Saturday as the new mayor of the municipality of Zurgena, under the Popular Party, which won the elections for the first time with an absolute majority.
During the Investiture Plenary, Trabalón recalled his vocation for public service since he was a child as a class delegate, or his decision to study nursing motivated by the fact of helping others. He grew up in a family where politics has been lived intensely and hence his concern for the problems that concern his people.
«I take on this challenge with great responsibility and enthusiasm; I am going to be a mayor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without resting for a single second,» said the new mayor, one of the youngest in Andalusia and Spain, at just 26 years of age.
«From this very Monday I start working as mayor and we inaugurate the legislature with the visit for the first time in history of the delegate of Education to the two schools in the town with the intention of solving the existing problems and lay the foundation stone that allows to provide vocational training in the municipality.
«The line of work will be to order, manage, listen, listen, reach out and be asking and knocking on doors without rest, to overcome all the challenges that we will find, which are not few».
Domingo Trabalón concludes by reminding us that «the elections are over, I am not only the mayor of the 900 residents who voted for me, but of the 2,912 inhabitants of Zurgena; the general interest will always be paramount above all else».
