– CARTAGENA CITY COUNCIL
The Cartagena fire brigade has issued a series of recommendations to avoid risks during the traditional bonfires for the day of San Juan, which are held on the night of 23rd to 24th June.
First of all, they advise not to make bonfires within 500 metres of woodland or land with vegetation, and within 15 metres of buildings, homes, vehicles or street furniture.
They also recommend not to make fires on asphalted or cobbled streets or to obstruct the passage of vehicles of any kind, especially emergency vehicles.

For its part, the Emergency Coordination Centre recalls that it is not allowed to make fire or throw cigarette butts in the bush, and urges citizens to call ‘1-1-2’ in case of seeing smoke or fire.
