The president of the Almeria Provincial Council is familiar with the future projects of the new mayors of Purchena and Armuña.

The provincial president, Javier A. García, makes his first institutional visit once the new local governments have been formed.

The President of the Provincial Council of Almeria, Javier A. García, today made his first institutional visit of the current term of office to the mayors of the municipalities of Purchena and Armuña de Almanzora. The president greeted the mayors and held a working meeting in which the government teams of these towns also participated with the aim of learning about and assessing joint projects that will improve the quality of life of all residents.

The route began early in the morning in Purchena, where the new mayor, José Luis Serrano, received the president and, after the protocolary signature in the Book of Honour, held a working meeting in the Plenary Hall together with the councillors who make up his team. At the meeting, the heads of both institutions had the opportunity to analyse future projects based on the demands of the residents.

The next stop in the Almanzora region was Armuña de Almanzora. The mayor, Pedro Guerrero, together with the councillors of his government team and the Municipal Corporation, received the president and held a meeting to discuss the most pressing issues for the municipality, which mainly involve the establishment of measures to help fix the population.


The Armuña government team received the president of the Provincial Council.

Another of the matters discussed were the refurbishment and extension of the Municipal Residence for the Elderly, which was awarded at the end of May last year. The president also stamped his signature in the Town Hall’s Book of Honour.

The President of the Provincial Council congratulated the new mayors of these municipalities and conveyed to them the firm commitment and the maximum institutional collaboration of the Provincial Council of Almeria so that they can materialize actions, projects and initiatives that contribute to equal opportunities among Almerians, fix the population and enhance the welfare indices of the entire province.

The Mayor of Purchena, José Luis Serrano, thanked the President for his visit and explained that it is an incentive to work with all the enthusiasm and enthusiasm that we are putting into continuing to make the projects that the municipality needs a reality.

For his part, the mayor of Armuña de Almanzora, Pedro Guerrero, valued the meeting held today with the president and highlighted his advice and willingness to address the most important issues for the municipality so that it can experience sustainable growth in the coming years.
