«The first thing is to manage the little big problems of the people, that is and will be our day to day. But there are also several important issues that are a priority and that we are going to solve as soon as possible», declared the new mayoress of Albox to La Comarca Noticias, just a few days after taking office as mayor of the municipality.
In her first interview after taking office on 17 June, Alfonso is clear that the first thing she wants to do is to «fix the watercourse as it passes through Albox. There is a project that had permission to be executed and that we are going to carry out as soon as possible», he assures.
And the other big demand «that people have asked us for and we consider necessary, is the opening of the town square. We have to restore road safety. Traffic is currently very difficult in Albox, the people are against this situation and we cannot govern with our backs to the residents. These are two of the commitments we made during the campaign, and we are already working on them».
These are the most immediate priorities, he assures, «but our objective is to carry out big projects for Albox and put it in the place it deserves. We have already spoken to the president of the Diputación, Javier Aureliano García, who visited us this week, and there is a clear commitment to the people of Albox,» he insists.
The new mayoress of Alboja is confident that all projects will go ahead despite the fact that she is governing with a simple majority. «I have full confidence because we are conciliatory people, we have our hands outstretched and we truly believe that through dialogue we can reach many points of agreement. We will listen to all political options, there is room for everyone here, and it is our obligation to give everyone their place. That is why I know that there will be no problem. We are going to be a stable government for the next four years» concludes the new mayoress, before telling La Comarca Noticias what the distribution of responsibilities in the new municipal government will be.
