Crew member of a jet ski in the Mar Menor found lifeless

A Maritime Rescue helicopter has located, last Friday, lifeless, a 52-year-old man in the Mar Menor who had disappeared on Thursday while he was on a jet ski in the town of Los Urrutias, located in the municipality of Cartagena, in the Region of Murcia.

According to Emergencias 112 Región de Murcia, the alert took place at 22.10 hours, as the jet ski was found floating adrift between the island of Mayor (also called Baron Island) and Perdiguera Island, in the centre of the Mar Menor.

In the jet ski was the mobile phone and the documentation of the missing person, which indicates that he is a 52-year-old man. The person who gave the alert indicated that he did not know the reason for the disappearance.

The authorities have deployed several search boats and a quad by land. The Sociedad de Salvamento y Seguridad Marítima (Sasemar), a Maritime Rescue helicopter, Local Police, Civil Guard and Civil Protection have been involved in the incident.
