The Local Police of Cartagena starts the summer device to control the botelleo in Cabo de Palos and La Manga. The municipal officers have established every night of this weekend half a dozen controls at fixed points to avoid crowds of people.
This weekend ended with 29 reports of alcohol consumption. No botellón has been allowed. “The security deployment of the City Council of Cartagena is being done in coordination with the IV Company of Torre Pacheco of the Civil Guard, which also serves the coast,” explained the councillor for Public Safety, José Ramón Llorca.
To prevent the concentrations, the local police have cordoned off public spaces near the residential areas of these towns on the coast of Cartagena with fences. This work has been reinforced with several plainclothes patrols guarding different areas of Cabo de Palos and La Manga.
“The municipal agents are also focusing on controlling that in shops, supermarkets and bazaars no alcohol is sold to minors, or drinks of this type outside the permitted hours,” concluded the mayor.
In addition, together with agents of the Special Operational Group of Citizen Security of the Local Police, they have carried out dissuasive controls to prevent crime. Specific deployments have also been made to control the consumption of alcohol and drugs in vehicle drivers.
