The Mayor José Miguel Luengo and the Councillor for Sports, Sergio Martínez, today visited the Pitín Stadium on the occasion of the recent creation of the Mar Menor de San Javier Football School chaired by Paco García, which is expected to welcome around 500 youngsters. “This is a breath of fresh air in the world of football for the municipality,” said the mayor, who guaranteed the support of the Town Hall for the new school, which was launched last June.
“We are convinced that this is what San Javier needed, a football school that is dedicated to the grassroots,” said José Miguel Luengo who thanked “the involvement of the board at the head of the school, people from San Javier who love football in San Javier and who are giving their best so that the kids and coaches feel comfortable in these facilities that are theirs and that no one can take away from here.
The Mar Menor Football School in San Javier has been up and running since last June and is based at the Pitín Stadium. It already has a full kit with the blue and yellow colours and is born with the idea that “sport in San Javier has more and more support and that the kids can realise their hobby through sport,” said Paco Garcia who assured that football Mar Menor “will continue to have its stadium, its public and its fans and no one can say that football has been lost in San Javier”. The school, which hopes to consolidate in a short time, is born with the intention of having a team that allows the kids to continue playing as they get older.
