Emergency services have attended to two people who have been injured when a large tree fell to the ground in Santiago de la Ribera, in the town of San Javier, according to the Emergency Coordination Centre.
The ‘1-1-2’ received several calls reporting the accident at 9.45 hours. The callers said that a tree had collapsed from inside an enclosure, had broken the perimeter fence and fallen on a person, in the avenue of Sandoval of the aforementioned locality.
Local police patrols, firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Consortium of the Region of Murcia (CEIS) and ambulances from the 061 Emergency and Health Emergency Department and the Emergency and Civil Protection Service of the City of San Javier were mobilised to the scene.
On the arrival of the emergency services, they reported that two people were injured, women aged 44 and 79 years, respectively. After being stabilised by the medical staff, they were taken to Los Arcos del Mar Menor hospital in San Javier.
