Almeria Provincial Council will invest 300,000 euros in improving roads and streets in Oria.

The Governing Board approves the tender for the ‘Improvements to Roads’ project, which will improve roads and asphalt other roads that lack pavement.

The Provincial Council of Almeria has approved a package of investments for the improvement of a dozen roads and streets in the municipality of Oria, totalling an investment of almost 300,000 euros.

This was stated by the deputy of Development, Antonio J. Rodriguez, who has highlighted the value of this work which is part of the Provincial Plans and has been approved by the Governing Board of the Provincial Council.

Specifically, the project aims to carry out actions of conditioning, improvement of the road surface and paving of various rural roads and urban streets throughout the municipality with a budget of 283,400 €.

The actions are located in different parts of the municipality of Oria. The project includes a total of nine actions on a series of streets and roads in different locations and the treatment to be carried out on each of the projected roads differs according to the state and the traffic they support.

On the one hand, work will be carried out on the roads that are currently on earth, where the current road surface will be improved by levelling and compacting the platform and paving the road:

Daimuz road. Sections 1 and 2.
La Yegua Alta road. Sections 1 and 2.
Los Alonsos – Los Elviras roads.
In addition, other dirt roads will be paved with gravel and gravel due to their low traffic intensity:

José Martos – Los Chulos Road. Sections 1 and 2.
Fuente Del Negro Road
Chaparrales Road
Work will also be carried out on other paved urban roads and streets which require road surface reinforcement:

Calle Concejala Remedios Simón (Los Cerricos)
Cambrones Street (Oria)
El Margen Road
Antonio J. Rodriguez, the deputy for Development, stressed the importance of the Provincial Plans because “they allow actions to be carried out that would be very difficult to do on their own, and this is a boost for the network of municipal roads”.

In the same way, he recalled that thanks to the initiative launched by the Provincial Council, the municipalities deduct from their contribution the drop that occurs in the award process.
