A 19-year-old girl was seriously injured last night after falling, for unknown reasons, from a scooter at kilometre 4 of the Gran Vía de la Manga del Mar Menor, Cartagena, according to sources from the Emergency Coordination Centre of the Region of Murcia.
At around 21.48 hours on Saturday, several calls to the single emergency telephone number ‘1-1-2’ alerted of the accident, indicating that she had been found unconscious with a gash on her head.
A Mobile Emergency Unit of the Emergency and Health Emergency Management ‘061’ was immediately sent to the scene and the Local Police of Cartagena and Guardia Civil were informed.
Once treated and stabilised, the wounded woman was taken in serious condition to the Hospital Clínico Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca, informing the Intensive Care Unit of her arrival.
