A 10-year-old boy had to be rescued from the water when he was bathing on a beach in Águilas and taken to the Rafael Méndez Hospital in Lorca after being left semi-conscious, according to the Emergency Coordination Centre.

The events occurred this Sunday evening, at around 19.00 hours, when members of the Copla Plan, specifically Civil Protection of Águilas, called ‘1-1-2’ requesting medical assistance for a 10 year old boy who had been rescued from the water on the Poniente beach. The boy was being treated with oxygen therapy while awaiting the arrival of the ambulance.

The Gerencia de Urgencias y Emergencias Sanitarias 061 sent an ambulance from the Primary Care Emergency Service, whose staff attended to the boy and transferred him to the Rafael Méndez Hospital in Lorca, where he was admitted for treatment.
