The Civil Guard has arrested a man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery with force, in the form of use of electronic means of payment, for allegedly transferring 7,000 euros to his bank account from the dataphone of a local leisure and restoration of La Manga del Mar Menor, as reported by sources of the Benemérita in a statement.
The investigation began last July, when the manager of the establishment reported that he had suffered the theft of thousands of euros, which had been fraudulently transferred to an unknown bank account.
The investigators determined that the transfer had been made through the establishment’s dataphone, using the cash back method.
In this way they found out that, without the knowledge of those in charge of the establishment and within a few minutes, an unknown person had made a first transfer of 1,000 euros and then another of 6,000 euros to a bank card.
The investigations carried out allowed to find out the identity of the card holder, 32 years old and resident of the municipality of Cieza, where the efforts to locate him continued.
The civil guards also viewed the surveillance cameras of the establishment, where they found that the physical characteristics of the young man who appeared in the images matched those of the suspect.
Once identified, the Guardia Civil has arrested the man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery with force in the modality of use of electronic means of payment and has recovered all the money stolen.
According to the investigation, the man took advantage of a moment of maximum affluence of customers to get the payment terminal with which he made a first refund of 1,000 euros to his bank account and then another of 6,000, and then left the premises.
The detainee and the proceedings have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of Cartagena.
