Correos is the official logistics operator of La Vuelta 23 for the fourth consecutive year. As such, Correos is responsible for transporting the key infrastructure of the 78th edition of the Spanish round, which will be held from 26 August to 17 September 2023. A real logistical challenge.
The company will move more than 400 tonnes of the necessary material so that the race can be held without logistical problems in its 42 venues (21 starts and 21 finishes), including those located in Andorra and France.
As official logistics operator, Correos will provide La Vuelta with 27 tractor units, two trailer trucks, one rigid truck and 15 platforms that will travel 3,153.8 kilometres loaded with the key material necessary for the race.
In addition to fences and signalling, this material also includes the mobile finish line infrastructures such as the podium, the press room (a 10×25 metre tent, which will be installed in the mountain stage with the finish in Javalambre), the signature control, anti-doping or the kitchen truck, among others.
In addition to being the official logistics operator, Correos will be the main partner of La Vuelta 23, sponsoring the team classification, which rewards each day the team that leads the classification by squads. A ranking that is established by adding the three best individual times of the riders of each team, with the team with the lowest time being ranked first.
The best team of each stage will go up to the podium of the signature control every day to collect their award before taking the start. Likewise, the team that leads the general classification of the squads will wear a red bib with the Correos logo every day, which will distinguish its riders as members of the best team in the peloton.
Correos’ collaboration with La Vuelta will also be visible this year in the Vuelta Park at each stage where there will be a Correos tent with a quiz with two roulette wheels and questions about Correos products (Correos Market, Correos Frío, Sustainability, Correos Logistics Challenge in La Vuelta, etc.) with the aim of generating greater awareness of the products, services and actions carried out by the Company.
These include comprehensive logistics, including product storage, shipment preparation and value-added operations; the largest distribution network in the country; commission-free online sales through Correos Market; Correos Frío; personalised sales advisors; and end-to-end solutions, both in the domestic and international markets.
Through the renewal of the agreement signed in 2020 with Unipublic, the organiser of La Vuelta, Correos is making visible its support and commitment to Spanish sport.
