The Local Police Unit of the detachment of the district of Los Dolores de Cartagena (Murcia) seized in the early hours of Sunday a total of 493 counterfeit items that were found inside a vehicle, after intercepting it after observing that the driver was making strange manoeuvres when he noticed the police presence.
The officers stopped the driver and found that he had a record for crimes against intellectual property, according to municipal sources in a statement.
During the search, several large packages were found containing a large amount of brand-name clothing which turned out to be counterfeit, so that they were confiscated and the person involved was charged.
The Local Police recalls the importance of not collaborating in the purchase of this type of products, which are not subject to quality controls and which can even cause health problems, such as allergies or adverse skin reactions, as they do not have the textile tests of suitability regulated by law.
