
In the province of Almeria, on Friday 1 September, 9,144 children started the school year, 227 more than in the previous year. In terms of the number of centres, in the 2023-2024 academic year in the province there will be 228 Infant Education centres, 5 more than in last year’s academic year.
Likewise, the Regional Ministry foresees an upward trend in enrolments in the first cycle of Infant Education, which, according to estimates, could reach more than 104,375 during the school year.
In this way, the enrolment rate at this stage will increase again at the end of the school year, reaching approximately 56%, higher than in the years prior to the pandemic, when Andalusia is already one of the communities with the highest percentage of pupils between 0 and 3 years of age enrolled in school. Last year, Andalusia registered a record number of enrolments, with 102,328 children in school.
