
The village of El Mirador will officially begin its Fiestas Patronales on Friday 15th September, although its festive events have been taking place since Monday 21st August, which began with the Parcheesi Championship.
This morning, Alba Sánchez, Councillor for Festivities, accompanied by Isabel Madrid, Mayoress of El Mirador and Amparo Pedrosa, President of the Fiesta Committee of El Mirador, presented the programme for El Mirador’s patron saint festivities at the Town Hall. The festivities in honour of the patron saint of the Virgen del Rosario will run until Monday 2 October with a packed agenda of activities, competitions, shows, food and religious events.
This year, the recito and the marquee have changed location, being situated on the esplanade of Centramirsa.
Among the most important events is the reading of the proclamation by Mari Puri, in the festive marquee, on Friday 15th at 22:30 and the subsequent inauguration of the peñas. Saturday mornings are reserved for children’s days with various activities. On the evening of the 16th, the Children’s and Young People’s Election and Crowning gala will take place. And the weekend ends with a morning full of physical exercise with zumba in the marquee with Iván Nieto and the pasabares.

The following weekend, starting on Friday 22nd in the afternoon there will be the “Red de Puntos de Encuentro de Personas Mayores” and in the evening there will be a tasting of migas in the marquee. On Saturday night the El Mirador Rememberfest party awaits us with DJs Paco García, DiCarlo, Raulsan, Ángel García and Juanma. On Sunday 24th we will start with the traditional Antonio “El Sheriff” Memorial Walking Route and subsequent biker lunch. The afternoon will be dedicated to our elders with mass, a convivial meal and a big charity raffle.
On Saturday 30th the offering of flowers to Our Lady the Virgin of the Rosary will take place and on Sunday we start the day with the Diana floreada and mass in honour of the patron saint. On the same afternoon there will be a parade of floats and brass bands, at 21:00 the procession and the great fireworks display. And the fiestas will end on the 2nd October with mass with an offering of fruits to the Virgen del Rosario, rice dishes in groups, dessert competition, ribbon races on horseback and at 21:00 the end of the fiestas and the prize-giving ceremony of the 24horas Tournament.
Alba Sanchez, councillor for festivities invited all the residents of San Javier to attend “these festivities so intense and that has been prepared with so much love by the festival committee and the municipality of San Javier”.
Isabel Madrid, mayoress of the town thanked “the festival committee for their involvement in the realization of such a complete program, which despite their youth have taken the step” and invited everyone to enjoy the festivities in honor of the Virgen del Rosario.
